Decaying Wisdom sets us Free

These photographs are from a set of 35mm film first exposed as part of a shoot in London creatively directed by artist Winter James in 2019 featuring performance and movement from artists K, L and Z. The film was then lost into time hidden within a bag for two years and was unknowingly reloaded into the camera in October 2021 while I was on a solo residency in Cumbria post COVID 19 lockdown. These resulting accidental double-exposures strike at the heart of my artistic enquiry. Here we see elements of the decaying wisdom of the past and glimpses of the joyful moment when we leave it freely behind. But whose dream is this?

Fungus eats bone. Bone upholds idea. Ideas hold feelings hostage.
